Always adjusts itself - has no trouble finding signal.
Functional and clear display and no need to ever buy another battery and compromise the seal of the watch.
Excellent product and really pleased with it

Very happy with my watch.

What's really great is how gloriously over-specified it is. I'm assured by the marketing blurb that it has "technology which shields the watch against damage and the effects of in-flight G-forces" and "the 12 o'clock position can be determined at a glance even under busy cockpit conditions." Needless to say neither of these qualities are exactly every day essentials for me - what with not being a fighter pilot and needing to know the time when I'm upside down.

Reassuringly is it also water resistant to 200m when 2m would be plenty, the bezel also has a tachymeter which would be nice, if I had the faintest idea what one was.

I wouldn't be surprised if the strap is resistant to gamma radiation sources including Iodine-131, Cesium-137, Cobalt-60, Radium-226, and Technetium-99m and that the face is designed to minimize the reflection of bright light at high altitude. Oh, hang on, it is? OMG, that's so cool!

One minor criticism, there's no dial-light. Despite the luminous hands, there are times when you can't quite work out what time it is.

Superb, robust and multi-purpose watch. Only problem is with the initial set-up as the font size on the face of the watch is tiny! If you are short-sighted get someone else to do it! Once set up though, it is a great piece of kit which looks better than your average digital display.

After my Casio ALT 6000 became problematic (nothing to do with the watch itself, the metal bar which holds the strap in place kept popping out and the watch falling off my wrist) after 16 years hard service, I decided to treat myself to this watch. It arrived in a small cardboard g-shock box with a g-shock tin inside containing the watch. The manual is small and thick but only about 35 pages are in English so it looks more daunting than it actually is. I read it before getting the watch out and then set the watch up in about 20 minutes. I agree with the other poster that the writing on the watch is quite small but I had no problems reading it.

I think the watch looks great on. It is on the chunky side which I think is a given with a g-shock watch, but not ridiculously so. It feels very light to wear and the strap is plastic/resin which is what I wanted, with a double-locking pin rather than a single pin.

The watch is radio controlled so no messing about adjusting it and is also solar-powered via the glass face which I think is a real bonus. It worked straight out of the box as well with no need to charge.

My only criticism of the watch is that in 'timekeeping mode,' the left hand chrono dial shows the day, but the other two show the current time (the lower showing the current hour and the right hand one showing the current time in 24hr format). This is a bit disappointing and a waste of the chrono dials as it basically duplicates what the hands are showing. This is a minor criticism however and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

If this lasts me another 16 years I will be more than happy.

(Just an amendment to Amazon's description. The day/date adjusts up to 31st Dec 2099, not 2039, according to my manual.)

The latest generation of gshock watches look fantastic. Other than for snob value I think they look better than any Tag or other premium brand. Functions include world time, day, date, alarm, stop watch and timer. It should never need a battery as it solar powered and the time is corrected each hour through the 6 band atomic synch - very 007! If having a precise stopwatch is crucial, you will want digital. I chose this one because it doesn't have a digital display! Oh, it's water proof to 20 bar whatever that means! In summary, i'm delighted with this purchase, I like the look and functions and I don't wish I spent £200 - £500 more on anything else. Other reviews have commented on the small lettering. There's a lot packed into this watch - trust me it's fine !
